How can I enter?
The Series is not an open qualification format. WEC and selected professional esports teams have been invited to submit an entry.
However, you can enter the Le Mans Virtual Cup. The support series follows the first four rounds and gives you a chance to race against some of the best in the rFactor2 Competition System. The top two in the standings after round four will get to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual.

How is the entry list decided?
The final entry list is decided by a selection committee representing both motorsport and esports.

Which teams and drivers are taking part?
There is a variety of teams competing from across motorsport and esports. There are multiple teams from the World Endurance Championships along with a number of top international esports teams.

How many entries will there be?
There will be approximately 30-40 full-season entries, all of which are guaranteed spaces in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual. An additional 14-20 teams will be permitted to join the grid for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual via a subsequent selection later in the year.

How are teams made up?
Each team have a roster of 4 or 5 drivers who can race:
A new rule change for this season is that each team must enter one professional driver in at least one regular round of the series, pre the 24 Hours of Le Mans, instead of being required to drive for the full season.
For the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, each team must continue to enter two pro real-world drivers per car.

What platform is being used?
The series will be using the rFactor2 platform, a highly realistic simulation platform available on the PC platform on Steam.

What cars are being used?
There are 2 classes competing, LMP and GT. Teams are free to choose which class they enter and free to choose the specific car from the in-game list.

How many races are there?
There are 5 rounds of the Le Mans Virtual Series, with the last round being the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual.

Will drivers be using a wheel and pedals?
It is mandatory for competitors to use a wheel and pedal setup, but teams can decide and choose the make and model.

Can teams design their own livery?
Teams are free to design and run their own livery on their cars, so long as they conform to regulations. They cannot be changed throughout the series without the permission of the organisers.

How will drivers qualify?
Each race there will be a 20 minute qualifying session for each category, LMP and GT. The results from these sessions will decide the grid.

Do drivers have stint times?
The races will run non-stop, but the rules on time are strict to prevent fatigue and drop off in performance. It’s up to each entry’s Team Manager to make sure they comply with the rules and that the driver taking the next stint is awake and ready to enter the game! Drivers may not drive more than 3 hours within a 5-hour period. Not respecting the minimum and maximum driving time may result in a penalty from the race officials.

Can one driver do the whole race?
No! Each race has limits depending on the length for minimum and maximum drive time to ensure teams need to change and rest their drivers.

Will there be changeable weather?
The weather settings within the server will be determined and set by the organisers. As with real-world, weather can often play a part in the changing and evolving strategies throughout the race, forcing teams to adapt.

Will it go dark during the races?
The rFactor2 platform is capable of manipulating time of day by speeding up or slowing down time. The races will be predominantly in daytime with the occasion of some sessions in the evening and darkness. We look forward to the sun setting in Bahrain for Round 1.

Can cars get damage?
Vehicle damage will be set to 100% for every session meaning damage will affect the car visibly and how it drives, but this can be repaired in the pitstop. Very bad accidents and incidents could results in terminal damage e.g. wheels falling off.

How will the races be officiated?
Each round will be appointed a Race Director who will oversee the running of the event. Also at each race there will be race stewards who monitor driving activity through in-game cameras and can apply penalties to teams for violations such as causing a collision. The in-game monitoring system may also apply penalties automatically e.g. speeding in pitlane and track limits.

Will drivers receive penalties?
Officials can hand out penalties for a variety of reasons and can result in various penalties, e.g. Drive through penalty, time penalty, points deduction, stop-and-go penalty or even disqualification. In most scenarios, drivers will have received warnings or reprimands before a penalty is applied.

Can cars breakdown in the races?
Mechanical failures in the server is set to on which means cars can breakdown mid-race if they are pushed beyond the limit.

Will there be another 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual?
Yes! This will be the 5th and final round of the Le Mans 24 Hours Virtual Series taking place on 14-15 January 2023.

How can I enter?
All full season entries in the Le Mans Virtual Series receive automatic entry into the Le Mans 24 Hours Virtual. Selected teams will then be invited to fill the remaining spaces with the final entry list being decided by a selection committee.
